Actress, “Masked Singer” judge, and former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy recently revealed she has completely surrendered her life to Jesus Christ following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

McCarthy, who was a guest on the “Culture Apothecary” with podcast host Alex Clark, explained how she felt after Kirk was fatally shot when he spoke at a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University in September, Church Leaders reported.

“I was so broken…when he was shot, I prayed and prayed and prayed, and then I was calling every doctor I possibly could, saying, ‘Tell me that this wound is something that could be healed…’ with every horrible thing, if you find the good, it can help you move forward. Look at the mass awakening. Look at how many people came closer to God, even including myself,” McCarthy said.

Shortly after Kirk’s death, McCarthy posted a video of herself praising God in her life while playing the song “The Blessing” by Kari Jobe in the background. Despite her Catholic upbringing, McCarthy shared that the tragedy led her and her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, to become devout in their faith.

“I’ve always been raised Catholic… I have a very deep relationship with God. You know, some people have to work really hard to hear Him. I’ve got a direct line. I mean, Jesus is my homie,” she explained. “I’ve always been a follower of Christ, but when [Charlie] passed, I completely surrendered. I am so devoted. I started Bible study immediately…We just have become devout since Charlie’s passing.”

She also noted how Charlie’s memorial moved her and how his passing “saved the world” by bringing people to Christ.

“I just want Charlie to know that—and I know he knows this, because he can see us all—he changed the world,” McCarthy said. “He saved the world. I mean, imagine having that as your legacy…You brought all those people closer to Christ…What a gift.”
