Wynonna Judd and Emmy Russell Moving 'Coal Miner's Daughter' Performance

Watch this moving performance of ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ on American Idol from Wynonna Judd and Emmy Russell.

‘Well, I was borned a coal miner's daughter

In a cabin, on a hill in Butcher Holler

We were poor but we had love

That's the one thing that daddy made sure of’

What a beautiful performance from Wynonna Judd and Emmy Russell! Emmy is a 25-year-old singer who is the granddaughter of late country legend Loretta Lynn. She made it to the top five on this season of American Idol before getting eliminated.

"I didn't make top three, but that was God's plan," Emmy shared in a video on Instagram. "It's funny because before I got eliminated, I really felt like I think God told me, he was like, 'Emmy, you're not going to be chosen by America, but I chose you.' And so there was no sense of, 'Why wasn't I chosen?' I know I'm chosen.”

She continued: "And so for me, the point of being here is you can be yourself and be successful. Don't run from rejection of pain and facing hard things."

In a beautiful tribute moment, Emmy was able to sing her grandmother's song ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ on the American Idol Grand Finale with Wynonna Judd. Emmy sings the first verse, Wynonna sings the second, and then in a sweet gesture, Wynonna reaches out her hand to hold onto Emmy’s hand.

“I hear Loretta in her granddaughter's voice and see her in her face. Loretta would be so proud! RIP Loretta, you're a national treasure!” comments one person on YouTube.

“Beautiful voice Emmy…your grandmother is smiling proudly from Heaven, and Wynonna, you still have the strongest, most amazing voice in country music!” writes another person online.

After singing ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter,’ the pair go on to sing ‘No One Else on Earth’ by Wynonna Judd. The whole performance was just wonderful to watch!

Brothers Of The Heart Captivate with 'I Can See Clearly Now' Performance

Ready for a song to put a pep into your step? Watch Brothers Of The Heart Captivate with ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ Performance. Something magical happens when talented artists join forces, and that God-given talent is palpable in Brothers of the Heart.

This remarkable supergroup—Jimmy Fortune, Bradley Walker, Mike Rogers, and Ben Isaacs—brings together a unique blend of country, bluegrass, and gospel music. Their sophomore album, Listen to the Music, showcases their exceptional harmonies and heartfelt performances, with their cover of "I Can See Clearly Now" standing out as a particularly captivating rendition.

Dubbed the “country, bluegrass, gospel dream team” by Cowboys & Indians magazine, Brothers of the Heart have followed their acclaimed debut project with a diverse collection of songs, accompanied by a TV special and DVD narrated by Country and Gospel Music Hall of Famer Don Reid.

Don coined the phrase Brothers of the Heart when describing the group, saying, “I call them Brothers of the Heart,” because of the deep bond and mutual affection they share. “For me, this is so much more than music,” Bradley says. “When you hear people talk about this group, they say, ‘You can tell that you all love each other, and you can tell you all are having fun.’ That’s the best thing about it to me.”

Their cover of ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ is a testament to their God-given talent and ability to breathe new life into classic songs. Jimmy’s shimmering vocals lead the performance, bringing a sense of clarity and hope to the beloved tune. The Brothers are each other’s biggest cheerleaders, and their mutual respect shines through in their music. Bradley’s harmony and instrumental support round out the performance, adding depth and richness to the song. In their cover of ‘I Can See Clearly Now,’ Brothers of the Heart strike a delicate balance between honoring the original and offering something fresh.

As much fun as the foursome had in the recording studio, their joy and camaraderie is even more evident in their live performances; with decades of musical experience behind them, Jimmy, Bradley, Mike, and Ben know they have something special as Brothers of the Heart. Their rendition of ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ is a perfect example of their God-given talent to create magic together, transporting listeners to a simpler time and making the day a little brighter with their harmonies and heartfelt performances. It's a special blend that transcends great harmonies and memorable lyrics. It’s something unique that can only be created by Brothers of the Heart, blessed by God with talent and a profound love for music and each other.

Psalm 133:1 "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!"

Ray Stevens Rollicking Performance of 'The Preacher and the Bear'

Ray Stevens delivers a rollicking performance of ‘The Preacher and the Bear,’ and while his genres include country, comedy, novelty, pop, and gospel—and not rap—the tune sounds a little like a kinder, cleaner type of rap. Check out Ray’s talkie-type song about a preacher who got a lesson about working on Sundays!

Here, Mr. Stevens appears before a live audience during an episode of Larry’s Country Diner, Season 19, while recording live at his CabaRay Theater in Nashville, Tennessee. The cast of Larry’s Country Diner is present throughout the video. Sheriff Jimmy Capps sits to Ray's right, tapping his leg to the beat. Castmates Waitress Renae, Nadine, and Keith are spotted in the audience at 2:30.

Ray begins by saying that the song he’s about to sing is on one of his albums, but he doesn’t know which one. Understandable! The man has recorded 50 in the studio and three live; he has 67 compilation albums, three boxed sets, and one extended play album.

With a head nod and a great smile, he starts telling the epic story. Though the song has been revised over the years, the original was written by George Fairman in 1904. It’s a wacky tale that warns against the dangers of working on the Sabbath, references three widely known Bible stories, and perhaps offers a deeper, less obvious lesson... if one is needed. Some suggest that it may be a song about the “resilience and determination of the human spirit” or the importance of “facing challenges with faith and courage.”

In any case, ‘The Preacher and the Bear’ is not a song that repeats the same words over and over. In the 3-minute performance, every line is new with the exception of the chorus, which is repeated just once. Guests at the diner are attentive and careful to catch every crazy move between the pastor and the grizzly! At 1:55, two gentlemen laugh; it sounds like the preacher might make it out of the woods alive!

Here are four hysterical lines from ‘The Preacher and the Bear:’

‘Well, the preacher and the bear went round and round

First they were up and then they were down

The bear, he roared, and the preacher, he groaned

And it looked like the preacher was holdin' his own’

Born in Georgia, Harold Ray Ragsdale, known professionally as Ray Stevens, is now 85 years old. You may recall other Ray Stevens songs like: ‘Everything is Beautiful’ and ‘Mississippi Squirrel Revival.’ And who can forget ‘The Streak?’

And who doesn’t need a great lesson delivered with a lot of laughs!?

“Then Nebuchadnezzar said, ‘Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” Daniel 3:28

Young Man's Chilling Cover Of Jim Croce Classic 'Time in a Bottle'

Savor—as if you have a lifetime—one young man’s chilling cover of Jim Croce’s classic ‘Time in a Bottle.’ It will be moments well spent!

Meet 15-year-old Cormac Thompson of Lancashire, England. According to the musical timeline on his website, Cormac took his first singing lesson when he was 8, and he’s been busy since then. In May of 2020, he sang ‘Danny Boy’ during a video chat with his maternal grandparents in Ireland. He’d hoped to cheer them during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, but after his recording was shared and went viral, he was offered a record deal with Decca Records. He is the youngest singer to have ever signed a global record deal!

Here, Cormac sings one of Jim Croce’s most famous songs. The teen singer’s voice has changed a lot in recent months, becoming more mature and deeper. Several of the nearly 300 comments reference how beautifully Cormac’s voice is changing. Others praise his rendition of the song, saying that his voice is like a “healing balm.” Cormac’s voice, Jim Croce’s lyrics, and the video images are perfect!

The video opens with a view of footprints in golden sand and the incoming tide, followed promptly by an hourglass and Cormac casually seated on a stool in the studio. His rich, pure notes are complemented by the mood created in the video. The song is wistful and pensive. It’s hard to imagine a person of his age truly understanding the fleeting nature of time, the way days, months, and years escape us. However, Cormac is convincing.

At 1:15, we see a film strip sliding across the screen; it seems to be a metaphor for life as a movie. There are spinning clock faces, and, at 1:25, we see digits in jars flip forward like years against a wall of gears. Though it is hard to catch, the very first year that appears is 1972. That happens to be the year that ‘Time in a Bottle’ was recorded. The song appeared on Mr. Croce’s 1972 album You Don’t Mess Around with Jim

As the video wraps up, we see stacks of old letters and photos and, finally, images of a young girl as she ages into an old woman and a dandelion as its seeds are blown in the wind. It really is a beautiful video!

Jim Croce was killed in a plane crash on September 20, 1973, at the age of 30. It seems prophetic that the artist wrote a song about making the most of days and valuing time. Cormac’s career is just beginning, and we hope he has a very long one ahead. He will surely bless the world just as the writer of the song that he sang so beautifully!

“for we were born only yesterday and know nothing, and our days on earth are but a shadow.” Job 8:9

Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-John's 'Jolene' Duet Wows

The legendary Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-John combined their talents for a mesmerizing and outstanding duet of the beloved classic “Jolene.”

Dolly Parton has enjoyed a highly successful and illustrious career spanning decades. She has appeared on television and the big screen, written books and even owns an amusement park in her native Tennessee, Dollywood.

However, Dolly is best known for her music and beautiful singing voice. “I Will Always Love You,” “Islands in the Stream” and the catchy, upbeat and energetic “9 to 5” are just some of her hit songs that immediately come to mind.

However, her most significant and most recognizable song is, without question, “Jolene.” Even those who aren’t the biggest Dolly Parton or country music fans know and love the 1973 classic. “Jolene” is so beloved that Rolling Stone crowned it the greatest country song ever.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dolly and the late Olivia Newton-John sing that timeless tune. As you would expect when two incredibly talented people team up, the performance is fantastic. Dolly and Olivia again prove their immense talent and musical gifts are undeniable.

This is one duet that you’ll want to listen to repeatedly!

Those lyrics, especially that chorus, are so iconic and memorable. Most can likely sing that chorus entirely from memory.

“Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene

I’m beggin’ of you, please

Don’t take my man

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene”

In the clip, Dolly said that she was “so excited” to get the opportunity to work with Olivia, calling her “one of my favorites of all time.” Additionally, Dolly called “Jolene” one of her “all-time favorite” songs she has written.

Similarly, Olivia stated that she was over the moon about the chance to sing “Jolene” with Dolly Parton, who originally wrote and performed that beloved classic.

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord:”

The Oak Ridge Boys Delightful 'Elvira' Performance On Larry's Country Diner

The Oak Ridge Boys turned in a delightful and toe-tapping performance of “Elvira” on Larry’s Country Diner.

Most musicians and bands become closely associated with one or two songs. It’s always the ones that were the biggest hits, tunes that shot to the top of the chart and have become cemented in people’s brains. That doesn’t matter if the band or musician was a one-hit wonder or had a 30, 40 or 50-year career filled with dozens of other classic songs.

To give you a better idea of the kind of song I’m talking about, it would be the one that if you went to see a band in concert and they didn’t play, you’d walk away upset. People would be slightly annoyed if The Rolling Stones didn’t play “Satisfaction” or The Eagles skipped over “Desperado.” How would fans react if Aerosmith chose not to perform “Sweet Emotion” or “Dream On?”

For The Oak Ridge Boys, that song is “Elvira.” Anyone who purchases a ticket to see The Oak Ridge Boys in concert would expect them to play it, likely saving it for their final song of the night. If they didn’t play “Elvira” at all, there would be some mighty upset Oak Ridge Boys fans.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the guys sang their top song during an appearance on Larry’s Country Diner. They sound fantastic as they give a spirited performance of their timeless tune.

Like most songs that reach such status, this one is a classic because of its simple but memorable and catchy chorus.

“Elvira

Elvira

My heart’s on fire for Elvira”

In addition to the guys' superb performance, the clip proves that “Elvira” is The Oak Ridge Boys’ most beloved song. In the opening seconds of their performance, everyone is clapping and singing along, not missing a word.

Everyone knows that chorus and song, even if you’re not an Oak Ridge Boy fan.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Sounds Like Reign Soul-Stirring 'Oh Christ Surround Me' Performance

Popular Christian family musical group Sounds Like Reign has given a soul-stirring and beautiful performance of the beloved tune “Oh Christ Surround Me.”

Life will beat you up, putting you through circumstances that will leave you battered and bruised. Sadly, these situations are, for the most part, unavoidable. Trying times and hardships have a way of finding and visiting everyone at one time or another. No one will get through this life unscathed.

However, even when enduring these painful and grief-filled situations, God is always near, by our side. He is a shelter during the storm, offering peace and comfort to those who call upon His name during their time of need.

During those times of great hurt, sorrow and confusion, Christians must cling to God and His promises the most. Sounds Like Reign masterfully performs “Oh Christ Surround Me.” It’s a tune that should be the prayer and desire of every Christian.

The lyrics are beautifully written, particularly the song’s opening verse.

“God be the love to search and keep me

God be the prayer to move my voice

God be the strength to now uphold me

Oh Christ, surround me”

Everyone's vocal performances in this short four-minute clip are noteworthy. They put their God-given musical gifts on full display for all to hear.

However, besides the spectacular vocal performances, the video’s setting is worth mentioning. The family performs in an empty house of worship whose stained-glass windows are expertly crafted and gorgeous.

We truly do not know what life will throw our way from one moment to the next. Things can and do change without any prior notice. But we can be assured that God will never change and will always remain by our side, especially in times of sorrow and uncertainty.

Zephaniah 3:17 “The Lord your God is among you, as a strong savior: he will be glad over you with joy, he will make his love new again, he will make a song of joy over you as in the time of a holy feast.”

Janitor's Stunning 'Don't Stop Believin'' Performance Wins Golden Buzzer On AGT

One man, a janitor, turned in a stunning and awe-inspiring performance on America’s Got Talent, winning a Golden Buzzer and everyone’s heart in the process.

Shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice remain popular despite being on television for years. Yes, everyone enjoys watching and listening to people sing and perform. However, those programs’ staying power comes from the contestants’ stories and journeys.

Everyone wants a chance in life. That’s all most people ever want. Sadly, many people never get that opportunity, for whatever reason, to display their God-given talents and show others what they can do. Shows like America’s Got Talent give those often overlooked and forgotten people that opportunity.

Richard Goodall is a janitor from Terre Haute, Indiana. He wanted nothing more than to show others what he could do after being told by people that he had the talent to make it. So, he hopped on a plane (his first plane ride ever) to Los Angeles and gave the America’s Got Talent judges a performance they won’t soon forget.

Richard auditioned by singing Journey’s classic “Don’t Stop Believin,” which he says he chose for obvious reasons.

A single moment can change a life forever. Richard experienced one of those instances when he auditioned in front of the show’s four judges and the studio audience. It was a magical moment for everyone involved – the studio audience, the judges and Richard.

From the second he opened his mouth and began belting out the song’s iconic first verse, Richard had everyone stunned and astonished at his beautiful, God-given musical talents.

The judges heaped praise on Richard, giving him compliment after compliment. Heidi Klum responded by slamming the Golden Buzzer and sending confetti to the floor.

Richard was left in tears at the overwhelmingly positive reception.

Psalm 105:2 “Let your voice be sounding in songs and melody; let all your thoughts be of the wonder of his works.”

Massive Choir Delivers Beautiful 'Hallelujah' Performance

A huge, massive choir turned in a beautiful and outstanding cover performance of the classic song “Hallelujah.”

Over the years, you’ve likely heard many songs covered by different musicians. Musicians playing a song previously written and performed by someone else is a tradition that goes back as far as music itself. It’s a practice that will likely continue as long as human beings create sound.

Most people can name songs that musicians cover regularly. Popular targets for covers include “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers, Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” Stand by Me” and “Amazing Grace.” All of those are great, classic and beloved songs. It’s clear why those tunes have spawned so many covers over the years.

Another equally beloved song that has been covered as many times as those other songs is Leonard Cohen’s timeless tune “Hallelujah.” One listen to that song, and it’s understandable why that is the case.

In a YouTube clip, a choir of hundreds of people comes together to sing “Hallelujah.” It’s a moving and awe-inspiring performance. It's a sight to behold, seeing so many people bring their God-given musical talent together to sing that tune. The performance is nothing short of astounding.

“Now, I’ve heard there was a secret chord

That David played, and it pleased the Lord

But you don’t really care for music, do you?

It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth”

Everyone in the clip takes direction so well. All the singers sound on key; seemingly, no one misses a note throughout the five-minute clip.

It’s likely that this song has been covered hundreds of times since it was released in the early 1980s, but this has to be one of the best versions. The sound is made even better given the choir’s sheer size—the video's title states there were 500 singers in the choir.

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord:”

Through his music, Zach shares his own ‘rescue story,’ inspiring others to find hope and healing in their own lives.

In a world filled with uncertainty and turmoil, ‘There Was Jesus’ serves as a beacon of light, reminding listeners that no matter what they may face, they are never alone. It's a powerful reminder of the unshakable love and presence of Jesus, offering comfort and solace to all who listen.

Goodman Revival Captivates With Stirring 'I Don't Regret A Mile' Lyric Video

The Goodman Revival captivates with a stirring, ‘I Don’t Regret A Mile,’ with this beautiful lyric video. In a cozy, home-like setting, the performers of Gaither gathered around a piano, creating an intimate atmosphere that invited the audience into a sacred space of worship and reflection. As they began their rendition of "I Don't Regret A Mile," the room filled with the rich harmonies of voices lifted in praise. The familiar lyrics, penned with heartfelt sincerity, resonated deeply with all who listened, weaving a tapestry of faith and devotion.

‘I don't regret a mile, I've traveled for the Lord

I don't regret the times, I've trusted in His Word

I've seen the years go by, many days without a song

But I don't regret a mile, I've traveled for the Lord’

Midway through the song, one of the performers, sensing the need to impart the profound message of the lyrics with even greater emphasis, paused to speak the words instead of singing them. This unexpected deviation from the norm drew the audience in even closer, as they hung on every word spoken, their hearts stirred by the raw emotion and authenticity of the moment.

‘I've sown many a seed that's fallen by the wayside,

For the birds to feed upon

But I've held enough golden sheaves in my hands

To make me keep sowing on’

The performance was nothing short of breathtaking, as each member of Gaither poured their hearts and souls into the music, infusing every note with passion and reverence. The synergy between the performers was palpable, their voices blending seamlessly as if guided by an unseen hand.

As the song reached its crescendo, the audience found themselves swept up in a wave of emotion, moved to tears by the beauty and power of the performance. It was a moment of transcendence, as the barriers between performer and audience melted away, leaving only a shared experience of worship and praise.

Long after the final notes had faded into the ether, the memory of Gaither's inspiring performance lingered in the hearts and minds of all who bore witness. For in that moment, gathered around a piano in a home-like setting, they had encountered something truly divine – a glimpse of heaven touching earth through the transformative power of music and faith.

Each note sung is a testament to the goodness and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father, who lovingly guides us through every trial and triumph on our journey of faith. In the sacred moments of worship, we are humbled by the privilege of lifting our voices in adoration and thanksgiving, knowing that our songs of praise resonate in the halls of heaven, a sweet offering to the One who has given us everything.

Psalm 95:2-3 "Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods."

John Schneider Revisits 'Dukes of Hazzard' With Thrilling Theme Song Performance

Fans of the action comedy television show The Dukes of Hazzard will enjoy John Schneider’s thrilling performance of the hit show’s theme song!

John Schneider was only 18 years old when he won the role of Beauregard ‘Bo’ Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard. He starred with Tom Wopat, who played his cousin Luke Duke in the wildly successful and fun show. The Dukes of Hazzard aired on Friday evenings for seven seasons from January 1979 to February 1985—147 episodes in total.

Now 64 years old, John Schneider appeared on Huckabee earlier this month and sang the theme song from the show that began his extraordinary career as an actor, musician, director, and producer. In a segment called ‘Hukebee’s Jukebox,’ John played the guitar and sang ‘Good Ol’ Boys,’ written and performed for the show by Waylon Jennings.

Joined by two backup singers and six other instrumentalists, John, as well as Mike Huckabee’s audience, had a ball with the song! Mr. Schneider invited audience members to sing along because he knew they know the tune. And he called out for band members to ‘play some country music back there.’ The former Governor of Arkansas played a guitar solo, and the pianist followed suit.

With a large image of the burnt orange 1969 Dodge Charger (better known as the ‘General Lee’) behind him, John laughed out loud several times and, at 1:40, he tweaked the chorus of the song, singing:

‘I’m a good ol’ boy

I wouldn’t change if I could

I’m still fighting the system

Like a true modern-day Robin Hood’

After the final note, John thanked the ‘folks,’ told them he appreciated their applause, and said “God bless you” a couple of times.

Bo and Luke Duke weren’t dangerous or mean-spirited; they were just always up to shenanigans. And as likable and down-to-earth as John Schneider seems to be in this video, it’s easy to believe that he, too, is just a good ol’ boy!

“Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.” Psalm 25:7
